# clsEAIPMessages

`clsEAIPMessages` is a helper class (nested within `clsEAIP.vb`) that contains the `SQLGetEAIPSpecialist` SQL constant and the `GetEAIPSpecialist` method that executes it. It enforces [BR-IMG-01](../../business-rules.md#br-img-01-eaip-specialist-selection-by-activenew-period-status).

## Purpose
- Provides the EAIP specialist lookup query for a claim: returns the `eaip_user` from `EAIP_PERIOD` for status 'A' or 'N' rows, ordered by effective date.

## Behavioral notes
- `GetEAIPSpecialist` executes [SQL-015](../../sql/SQL-015-saif-business-imaging.md) with `:inClaimID`.
- Enforces [BR-IMG-01: EAIP specialist selection by active/new period status](../../business-rules.md#br-img-01-eaip-specialist-selection-by-activenew-period-status): only rows with `eaip_status_code = 'A'` or `'N'` are returned.
- If no qualifying rows are returned, the caller falls back to `clsMessages.EAIP_MAILID`*.

- This class is defined in `clsEAIP.vb`; both `clsEAIP` and `clsEAIPMessages` reside in the same source file.
