# SAIF.Business.Policy.Affiliate overview

`SAIF.Business.Policy.Affiliate` is the policy-affiliate business-object library for people attached to a workers'-compensation policy. It models standalone affiliates, the policy-to-affiliate association rows used for interested parties and preferred workers, and corporate officer exemptions, while delegating connection management, code-table retrieval plumbing, and data-portal orchestration to the BOF framework packages.

## Purpose
- Provide read-only business objects for policy-affiliate data that higher-level callers can retrieve by SSN, policy key, or policy date window.
- Centralize shared association behavior so interested-party and preferred-worker retrievals reuse the same join and identity logic.

## Responsibilities
- Retrieve affiliate person records from `AFFILIATE`.
- Retrieve and classify interested-party and preferred-worker policy associations from `BUSINESS_AFFILIATE`.
- Retrieve corporate officer exemptions and optionally resolve the named affiliate person.
- Resolve title, insured-code, and exemption-reason descriptions through framework code collections.

## Key components
- `clsAffiliate`: standalone affiliate person record keyed by SSN.
- `clsPolicyAffiliateBase` and `clsPolicyAffiliateBaseCollection`: shared association templates used by interested parties and preferred workers.
- `clsInterestedParty` and `clsInterestedPartyCollection`: affiliate type `1` policy associations.
- `clsPolicyPreferredWorker` and `clsPolicyPreferredWorkerCollection`: affiliate type `2` policy associations with lazy eligibility lookup.
- `clsCorporateOfficerExemption` and `clsCorporateOfficerExemptionCollection`: corporate officer exemption objects loaded through BOF result sets.
