# BenefitJurisdictions

`BenefitJurisdictions` is an enumeration generated from the `BENEFIT_JURISDICTION_CODE` reference table that classifies which workers'-compensation benefit jurisdiction (state or federal) applies to a policy or rating context. It is the enum type produced by `clsBenefitJurisdictionCodeMap` when translating persisted jurisdiction codes, and it is consumed by `iAdjustedRateProvider.BenefitJurisdiction` as one of the inputs to adjusted-rate-factor calculations.

## Purpose
- Represent the fixed, closed set of benefit jurisdictions (state vs. federal) recognized by the policy domain, per [BR-POL-003](../../../../business-rules.md#br-pol-003-persisted-policy-codes-map-to-fixed-domain-enums).
- Provide the `Unknown` fallback value used when a persisted `BENEFIT_JURISDICTION_CODE` value cannot be mapped, per [BR-POL-004](../../../../business-rules.md#br-pol-004-unrecognized-codes-translate-to-safe-defaults).

## Context
- Namespace: `SAIF.Business.Policy`
- Assembly/package: `SAIF.Business.Policy`

## Public members
| Member | Signature | Purpose |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `Unknown` | `Unknown = 0` | Default/fallback value used when the persisted code does not map to a recognized jurisdiction. |
| `State` | `State` | Represents the `"S"` (State) benefit jurisdiction code from `BENEFIT_JURISDICTION_CODE`. |
| `Federal` | `Federal` | Represents the `"F"` (Federal) benefit jurisdiction code from `BENEFIT_JURISDICTION_CODE`. |

- Related operations, rules, and SQL are cross-referenced from the library-level documentation.

## Constraints and usage notes
- Consumers should rely on the declared public surface rather than internal implementation details.
