# PolicyOwnershipSystems

`PolicyOwnershipSystems` is a nested enumeration of `Enums` that identifies which system — `WCIS` or `SAIFQuote` — currently "owns" a policy and is therefore authorized to make changes to it. Unlike most sibling enumerations in `Enums`, it has no paired `Convert*` function in this class; ownership is instead determined at runtime through the Oracle submission-ownership function, per [BR-POL-010](../../../../business-rules.md#br-pol-010-ownership-comes-from-the-oracle-submission-ownership-function).

## Purpose
- Represent the two systems that can currently own and modify a policy.
- Support ownership checks (e.g., via `PolicyInformation.GetPolicyOwnershipSystem`) that gate whether a given caller is allowed to update policy data, per [BR-POL-010](../../../../business-rules.md#br-pol-010-ownership-comes-from-the-oracle-submission-ownership-function).

## Context
- Namespace: `SAIF.Business.Policy`
- Assembly/package: `SAIF.Business.Policy`

## Public members
| Member | Signature | Purpose |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `WCIS` | `WCIS` | Indicates the WCIS system currently owns the policy. |
| `SAIFQuote` | `SAIFQuote` | Indicates the SAIFQuote system currently owns the policy. |

## Behavioral notes
- Source declaration: `Business\SAIF.Business.Policy\Enums.vb`.
- Related operations, rules, and SQL are cross-referenced from the library-level documentation.

## Constraints and usage notes
- Consumers should rely on the declared public surface rather than internal implementation details.
