iAdjustedRateFactor

iAdjustedRateFactor is the interface implemented by individual adjusted-rate-factor strategies that contribute to a cumulative premium rate adjustment. Each implementation computes (or looks up) a decimal multiplier for a given iAdjustedRateProvider, and returns AdjustedRates.NonApplicableAdjustedRateFactor (the value 1) when the factor does not apply, so the value can be folded into a running multiplication without altering the result.

Purpose

  • Define a common contract for pluggable rate-adjustment factors that operate against an iAdjustedRateProvider.
  • Guarantee that non-applicable factors contribute the neutral value rather than zero, per BR-POL-017.

Factor Property Factor(ByVal inAdjustedRateProvider As iAdjustedRateProvider) As Decimal Computes the adjustment multiplier for the supplied iAdjustedRateProvider; implementations must return AdjustedRates.NonApplicableAdjustedRateFactor (1) when the factor does not apply to that provider, per BR-POL-017.
