This library provides the "V2 AJAX" generation of SAIF's Infragistics-based ASP.NET WebForms control set (RootNamespace=SAIF.Presentation.Web.Controls.V2.AJAX), offering reflection-based auto-binding editors, hover-help/hover-panel widgets, grid column-visibility customization, and a small read-only help-text lookup facility backed by an Oracle database.

Purpose

  • Provides reflection-based auto-binding editor controls that bind a control's value to a dotted property path on a page-level model object and surface the bound object's own validation messages, without the developer writing manual data-binding code.
  • Renders hover-help and hover-panel popups (built on the AJAX Control Toolkit HoverMenuExtender) for inline, context-sensitive user assistance, including database-backed help text for a specific screen field.
  • Lets end users customize UltraWebGrid column visibility and paging through a modal popup, persisting their choices to a per-user preference store.
  • Consumed by hosting ASPX pages elsewhere in the SAIF presentation tier that need auto-binding editors, hover help, or customizable grids.

Responsibilities

  • Reflection-based get/set/validate plumbing for auto-binding controls (AutoBindTextbox, AutoBindWebDateTimeEdit, AutoBindWebMaskEdit) via BindingUtility and BindingManager.
  • Rendering hover-help/hover-panel UI (HoverPanel, HoverPanelControl, HoverLabel, HoverPicture, HoverHelp, HoverHelpControl).
  • Retrieving read-only, database-backed help text via clsHelpText/clsHelpTextCollection (APPLICATION_HELP_MASTER/APPLICATION_HELP_DETAIL on an inferred Oracle database*, retrieve-only).
  • Grid column visibility/paging customization for UltraWebGrid (InfragisticsGridCustomizer, ModalGridCustomizer, GridCustomizationPanel).

Key components

  • AutoBindControlAncestor: common ancestor wiring binding/validation plumbing for all auto-binding editor controls.
  • BindingManager: page-level orchestrator that walks Page.Controls and assigns the model to every auto-binding control.
  • BindingUtility: reflection-based dotted-path property get/set/bind helpers shared across the library.
