Configuration settings

This library consumes two configuration keys through two distinct retrieval mechanisms: a direct ConfigurationManager.AppSettings lookup in NavigationContext, and an IEnvironmentService-mediated lookup in Utilities.clsMailMessage. No web.config/app.config is present in this project itself; both keys must be supplied by the consuming web application's own configuration file at runtime.

Configuration retrieval methods

Method Class / Interface Namespace Usage pattern
ConfigurationManager.AppSettings.Get NavigationContext SAIF.Presentation.Web.Core Direct static call to System.Configuration.ConfigurationManager.AppSettings.Get("MENU_ENVIRONMENT") in the constructor, used to parameterize an Oracle BOF data-layer instance.
AppGlobal.EnvironmentService.GetConfigSetting Utilities.clsMailMessage SAIF.Presentation.Web.Core.Utilities Calls the SAIF.Framework IEnvironmentService singleton (via AppGlobal.EnvironmentService) once per each of the 6 SendMail/SendMailWithAttachment overloads to resolve the legacy SOAP mail endpoint.

Environment API settings

Settings retrieved via IEnvironmentService (centralized environment configuration service).

Setting key Method Data type Purpose Consuming class Source
LegacyMailWebServiceUrl GetConfigSetting String Resolves the legacy SOAP mail web service endpoint URL, assigned to the generated SAIFMail.clsSAIFMessage proxy's .Url property before sending mail. Utilities.clsMailMessage SAIF.Presentation.Web.Core.Infragistics103\clsMailMessage.vb

AppSettings (Web.config)

Settings retrieved via ConfigurationManager.AppSettings.

Setting key Default value Purpose Consuming class Source
MENU_ENVIRONMENT (none — no default in source) Selects the environment used to construct clsMSOracleDataLayer("MENU", <MENU_ENVIRONMENT value>), an Oracle BOF data-layer instance scoped to a hardcoded MENU DB account, used to load menu authorization data. NavigationContext SAIF.Presentation.Web.Core.Infragistics103\NavigationContext.vb

Database connection configuration

No connection strings or database provider settings are consumed directly by this library; the Oracle BOF connection is resolved entirely by clsMSOracleDataLayer (in SAIF.Framework) using the MENU_ENVIRONMENT value.

Secure settings

No settings requiring decryption or credential retrieval were found in this library's scanned source.

Transitive configuration (from dependencies)

None confirmed. Whether IEnvironmentService.GetConfigSetting("LegacyMailWebServiceUrl") reads directly from <appSettings> or from some other configuration store internal to SAIF.Framework is not determinable from this project's source alone**.

Configuration dependencies

Dependency Type Required at Impact if missing
MENU_ENVIRONMENT appSetting Consuming application's Web.config <appSettings> Runtime (construction of NavigationContext) ConfigurationManager.AppSettings.Get returns Nothing, which is passed to clsMSOracleDataLayer; the resulting failure mode is not handled in this library and would surface as an unhandled exception from the data layer*
LegacyMailWebServiceUrl environment setting Consuming application's environment/configuration store accessed via IEnvironmentService Runtime (each SendMail/SendMailWithAttachment call) The SOAP proxy's .Url would be set to an invalid/empty value, causing the outbound mail call to fail with an unhandled exception*
