# Look up a binder by control

Find the binder registered for a specific control so it can be rebound or inspected directly.

## Steps

1. Iterate `m_Bindings` and compare each binder's `FormControlID` with the control's `UniqueID` (exact, case-sensitive comparison). ([BR-BIND-060](../business-rules.md#br-bind-060-binder-lookup-by-exact-uniqueid))
2. Return the first match, or `Nothing` when none matches.
3. `ObjectToControl(control)` calls `Binder(control).ObjectToControl()` directly, so an unmatched control raises a `NullReferenceException`.*

## Failure and edge-case behavior

- Callers of `ObjectToControl(control)` must ensure a binder is registered for the control first, since a `Nothing` lookup result is not null-checked before the call.*
