# ModalGridCustomizer.BindingBehaviors

`BindingBehaviors` is a public enum nested inside [ModalGridCustomizer](ModalGridCustomizer.md). It is the designer-configurable value behind the `BindingBehavior` property, and it selects which of three rebind strategies `ModalGridCustomizer` uses to refresh the target grid after the user applies column/page-size customization. ## Purpose
- Lets the page author choose whether the grid is rebound through the page's object binder, the grid's native `DataBind`, or a fully custom handler, matching however the hosting page already manages its data. - Drives the branching in `CustomizationPanel_BindGrid`, which is the single place this enum is consumed.

## Behavioral notes
- The enum value is read once per postback inside `CustomizationPanel_BindGrid`; there is no fallback if `Custom` is selected but the page never handles the `BindGrid` event, in which case the grid is simply not rebound. ## Constraints and usage notes
- `Custom` requires the hosting page to subscribe to `ModalGridCustomizer.BindGrid`; otherwise customized columns will not be re-applied to a freshly bound grid. ([BR-AJAX-038](../../business-rules.md#br-ajax-038-the-rebind-strategy-after-customization-is-chosen-by-the-consumer))
- `DataBind` assumes the grid's `DataObject` (or equivalent data source) is already configured elsewhere on the page for every postback.*
