# Activity

Activity is the request payload posted when creating a Guidewire claim activity*, carrying the activity's description, subject, scheduling dates, and enum-typed classification (priority, pattern code, role) alongside the target claim number and assigned user. The `activityPriority`, `activityPatternCode`, and `activityRole` properties are serialized as their string enum names via `StringEnumConverter` rather than as numeric values. Null properties on this type are omitted from the serialized request ([SDG-BR-010](../../business-rules.md#sdg-br-010-null-activity-properties-omitted-from-serialized-request)).

## Purpose
- Carries the description, subject, priority, pattern code, role, and scheduling data for a single Guidewire claim activity to be created*

## Behavioral notes
- Null properties on this type are omitted from the serialized request body ([SDG-BR-010](../../business-rules.md#sdg-br-010-null-activity-properties-omitted-from-serialized-request)).
- `activityPriority`, `activityPatternCode`, and `activityRole` are serialized/deserialized as strings using `[JsonConverter(typeof(StringEnumConverter))]`, not numeric enum values.
