# ClaimAdjuster

`ClaimAdjuster` implements `SAIF.Core.Contracts.Claims.Information.IAdjuster` and is the concrete adjuster representation `Claim.ResponsibleAdjuster`, `Claim.CompensableAdjuster`, and `Claim.VocationalAdjuster` build from Guidewire claim-contact data or vocational-responsibility data, filling in name/phone/fax either directly from Guidewire or, when Guidewire has no user ID, by falling back to an `Employee` lookup ([OP-DOM-18](../../operations-processes.md#op-dom-18), [OP-DOM-20](../../operations-processes.md#op-dom-20)). Its formatted display properties feed the adjuster information shown on claim and bill screens.

## Purpose
- Holds an adjuster's identity, responsibility code, and contact detail (name, phone, fax) so `Claim`'s adjuster-related properties have a consistent value to return regardless of whether the data came from Guidewire or an `Employee` lookup.
- Formats display strings — `NavigationDisplay`, `NavigationDisplayName`, `ResponsibilityCodeDisplay`, `ResponsibilityPhoneExtensionDisplay` — combining responsibility code, name, and phone extension into the exact strings claim/bill screens render.

## Context
- Namespace: `SAIF.Domain.Model.Claims`
- Assembly/package: `SAIF.Domain` (packaged in `SAIF.SAIFCode.Core`)

## Public members
| Member | Signature | Purpose |
| --- | --- | --- |
| ClaimAdjuster (constructor) | `public ClaimAdjuster()` | Initializes `Name`, `Phone`, and `Fax` to empty value objects and `MailId`/`ResponsibilityCode`/`NavigationUrl` to empty strings, so an adjuster with no data still exposes non-null contact objects. |
| ResponsibilityCode | `public string ResponsibilityCode { get; set; }` | The adjuster's responsibility-type code (e.g. compensable, vocational). |
| MailId | `public string MailId { get; set; }` | The adjuster's Guidewire user ID, used to decide whether Guidewire contact data or an `Employee` lookup supplies name/phone/fax. |
| Name | `public PersonName Name { get; set; }` | The adjuster's display name. |
| Phone | `public PhoneNumber Phone { get; set; }` | The adjuster's phone number and extension. |
| Fax | `public PhoneNumber Fax { get; set; }` | The adjuster's fax number. |
| PhoneExtension | `public string PhoneExtension { get; set; }` | The adjuster's phone extension, used by `ResponsibilityPhoneExtensionDisplay`. |
| NavigationUrl | `public string NavigationUrl { get; set; }` | The `mailto:`-style navigation link built for this adjuster (via `IAdjuster.FormatNavigationUrl` on the underlying contract implementation)*. |
| NavigationDisplay | `public string NavigationDisplay { get; }` | The combined `"<code> - <name> x<ext>"` display string, omitting the code prefix or extension suffix when they are blank. |
| NavigationDisplayName | `public string NavigationDisplayName { get; }` | The adjuster's name formatted with `FormatToEmployeeFormat()`. |
| ResponsibilityCodeDisplay | `public string ResponsibilityCodeDisplay { get; }` | The responsibility code formatted as `"<code> - "`, or empty when there is no code. |
| ResponsibilityPhoneExtensionDisplay | `public string ResponsibilityPhoneExtensionDisplay { get; }` | The phone extension formatted as `"x<ext>"`, or empty when there is no extension. |

## Behavioral notes
- `MailId` being blank is the signal `Claim`'s adjuster properties use to decide whether to fall back to an `Employee` lookup for name/phone/fax rather than using Guidewire contact data directly*.

## Constraints and usage notes
- `NavigationUrl`, `FormatNavigationUrl`, and related interface members come from `IAdjuster`; this type's own file defines only the data and display-formatting members listed above.

> **Note:** Statements marked with `*` were inferred from code structure, naming
> conventions, or contextual evidence where direct confirmation was not available
> in source artifacts.
