clsLoggingQueues

clsLoggingQueues is a configuration-driven helper that formats an MSMQ queue path-name string for hosting applications. It does not open or write to a queue itself.

Purpose

  • Resolve the MSMQ queue server and queue name from application configuration and format them into a full MSMQ path-name string.

Context

  • Namespace: SAIF.Framework.Logging
  • Assembly/package: SAIF.BOF.Framework.Logging (SAIF.Framework.Logging/SAIF.BOF.Framework.Logging.vbproj)
  • Class has Shared (static) members only.

Public members

Member Signature Purpose
QueueServer Shared ReadOnly Property QueueServer As String Reads the "QueueServer" AppSettings key, falling back to the default "MQPROD" (see BR-007).
QueueName Shared ReadOnly Property QueueName As String Reads the "QueueName" AppSettings key, falling back to the default "logging" (see BR-007).
GetQueueName Shared Function GetQueueName() As String Formats and returns FormatName:DIRECT=OS:{server}\{queue} using QueueServer and QueueName.

Behavioral notes

  • Reads configuration via System.Configuration.ConfigurationManager.AppSettings.Item(...) for the "QueueServer" and "QueueName" keys.
  • Never opens or writes to a System.Messaging.MessageQueue, despite System.Messaging being referenced in the project file — this class produces a path string only**.
  • The actual MSMQ queue producer/consumer is presumably implemented elsewhere (a batch application or the wsLogging service itself), but this could not be confirmed from this library's source**.

Constraints and usage notes

  • Callers must perform their own queue I/O using the string returned by GetQueueName(); this class provides no queue connectivity.
  • If the "QueueServer"/"QueueName" AppSettings keys are absent, the hard-coded defaults ("MQPROD"/"logging") are used instead of raising an error.

Note: Statements marked with * were inferred from code structure, naming conventions, or contextual evidence where direct confirmation was not available in source artifacts. Statements marked with ** could not be confirmed; treat as unknown until verified.
