ApplicationEnvironment

ApplicationEnvironment is the enum of deployment tiers returned by IEnvironmentService.GetApplicationEnvironment() and used throughout this library to classify the current runtime environment.

Purpose

  • Represent the deployment tier of the current application/environment (development, test, QA, production, or global/shared).

Context

  • Namespace: SAIF.Framework.Security
  • Assembly/package: SAIF.Framework.Security.EnvironmentApi

Public members

Member Signature Purpose
Dev Dev Development environment.
Test Test Test environment.
Qa Qa QA environment.
Prod Prod Production environment.
Global Global Global/shared configuration scope (see Constants.GlobalSection), used to represent settings not tied to a specific deployment tier.

Behavioral notes

  • IEnvironmentService.IsProduction is defined as GetApplicationEnvironment() == ApplicationEnvironment.Prod.
  • ConfigurationSettings.Environment stores the resolved tier for the currently-loaded configuration.

Constraints and usage notes

  • Consumers should compare against these enum values rather than raw strings when branching on deployment tier.

Note: Statements marked with * were inferred from code structure, naming conventions, or contextual evidence where direct confirmation was not available in source artifacts. Statements marked with ** could not be confirmed; treat as unknown until verified.
